KAUAI - The Garden Island

For our Hawaii trip we will be travelling to 3 of the Islands:
Kauai, Maui and The Big Island

We landed in Kauai last night really late but because of the time change we are 3 hours behind. When we landed we rented our car and drove straight to our camp ground (yes, we're camping) to set up out tent in the dark. At this point Brian and I (mainly me though for once) were super stressed and exhausted. Let's just say we were really looking forward to the day to be over already.

When we woke up (at about 6am) we felt better already! Hawaiian people are all sooo nice and friendly! Today was an awesome day! It was very eventful; filled with sightseeing the beautiful landscape and gardens!
Coffee Beans!

Throughout the day we:
* sat on the beach at our camp ground (Salt Pond Park) listening to the waves crash against the shore and watching the crabs scurry across the sand!
* drove to a park to eat lunch
* walked around a nearby town (Hanapepe) checking out the shops and art galleries
* went to the coffee plantation where we were able to sample all the different types of coffee (well Brian did anyways :) )
* snorkelled at the Prince Kuhio beach we happened to pass by on our way to the Garden - this was so amazing! It was actually my first time snorkelling and I absolutely loved it! The fish were amazing and so colorful!
* went to the National Tropical Botanical Garden which was extremely beautiful; filled with an abundant amount of different plants and flowers of Hawaii
* beached it for a few hours going back to Prince Kuhio; it was such a nice beach we just had to go back there to relax and get some sun.......one of us got a little too much sun already but probably won't admit it....
* drove to Wailua Falls; which was a pretty nice waterfall
* had supper at the same park we ate lunch

This pretty much concludes our extremely busy first day! Hope to write again soon. The times will vary as to when we're able to find a place with the internet and if we have the time too! We are in Hawaii! haha
