Finally Paris Finished....Sorry!

Sorry this is taking a lifetime to keep up to date with our blog, we've been super busy with Meredith but we will catch up very soon!

Monday
:
This was Brian's, Pat's and my favorite day because of the morning events that took place. We went straight to La Defense; which was an area of Paris that consisted of modern, new buildings (mainly sky scrapers) that all had some sort of different/crazy structure. It was great to see because we have been getting sick of the same "old" style buildings that are all over Europe and are basically all the same! Here are some pics of what we enjoyed:

Next we took the metro to the closest stop near the Louvre Museum again to eat in the gardens. On our way we hit the Obilisk called the Place de la Concorde that was brought back from Egypt by Napolean. Then we walked all the way to the Louvre gardens that we liked and after staying there for a while we continued to the Notre Dame Cathedral. This was one of our favorite cathedrals yet that we have seen so far, there was so much stained glass which was cool and we thought the outside looked really cool. After that we kept walking to the St. Louis Church that was recommended to us (nothing special - didn't even take any pictures) and the Pantheon building which was OK. By this time we were really tired of walking but managed to see the Gardens of Luxembourg that had a huge fountain we sat around for quite a while.

Notre DameNotre Dame

Later that night we headed back to the Eiffel Tower for a couple hours because we all really enjoyed that a lot and then went back to the hostel to call it a night.

Tuesday:
This was a really short day because we were leaving that afternoon to go back home. In the morning we went to the Catacombs which was super different but pretty neat. I don't know the story behind it at all but there were walls and stacks of bones piled up all around us everywhere that just kept going on for ever it seemed like. It was honestly unbelievable and pretty gross if you ask me that there were so many bodies stored there still, it was weird to see.

After the Catacombs we went back to the Luxembourg Gardens to eat and hang out there for the rest of our time left in Paris until we had to go back to the train station. It was a really great trip but we were ready to come home when it was over!

Again we are really sorry that this has taken so long to finish this posting and how behind we are on our blog. Next to come is Venice, Basel (skateboard comp.), Rome, the coast of Spain and Prague; please stay tuned and there will be new stories soon! Thanks for being patient!
