Prague Trip...Sept. 7 - 11

For our last trip with Meredith we went to Prague in the Czech Republic...just Mere, Bri, and I. It was quite a fun and relaxing trip so that was nice. There was not a lot of sightseeing to do which was also nice because we did a lot of that in Rome. There were a couple different things we wanted to see but that is about it.
We were able to see:

1. Charles Bridge

The bridge is lined with statues the whole way and there are also street vendors who set up all over the bridge with really cool stuff to buy. There is one statue/plaque on the wall of the bridge that you are supposed to rub for good luck - so of coarse we did...

2. Prague Castle

Within the walls of the castle were other historical monument buildings such as the Basilica of St. George and St. Vitus Cathedral. Pictures of the Cathedral:

3. The old town/Mala Strana (newer town)

The rest of the time we spent walking around the city and shopping for friends and family. One of our favorite parts about this trip was that we were able to eat out at restaurants for every meal because it was so cheap to do so. That was nice for Brian and I to be able to do that for once rather than get food from grocery stores.

Here are some photos of random things we came accross on our trip:

Jarmir Jagr is one of the Czech's most famous hockey players ever and we coincidently ran into his Sports Bar one night. It looked really fancy and a bit intimidating so we didn't go into it but fortunately got a picture (this is for James Doerkson):

And last but not least...

Now that's style!

Meredith is always demonstrating a new fashion idea...haha (sorry Mere!)

Our next post(s) will cover the many daily trips around Switzerland that we adventured on with Meredith and Miriam...STAY TUNED!!

Oh I remember about that now! haha With the weird signs on the door and we couldn't figure out which one was the man and which one was the woman by the pictures. We had to wait and watch other people go in there! haha That was hilarious! Good memories...

Very interesting article. I also have been to Prague. Also find good accommodation is not a problem, even in old center, there are a plenty of hotels in Prague for any budget.
The streets of Prague (or Praha) are worn. Walking through Old Town, I began to wonder if the wear and tear was due to the age of the place or all of the many tourists that the fall of Communism has ushered in. Nevertheless, it is not the street surface that will draw your attention. The entire city is like a giant tapestry, perfectly varied in its design, full of a splendid array of outstanding and exemplary architecture. Gothic towers, Baroque facades, and Romanesque columns surround you as you weave your way through the twisting streets of Old Town.
